Kishan welcomes Indian Navy station in Vikarabad

Hyderabad, Oct.15 (NSS):Union Minister & BJP Telangana State president G. Kishan Reddy today said it was a good thing that another ambitious project related to national security and defence was coming to Telangana and added that the foundation stone for the project would  be laid for setting up of a Frequency (VLF) Communication Transmission Station (Radar Centre) of the Indian Navy.

He said, “I am happy that the bhoomi pujan will be  performed by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh. He will lay the foundation stone for a radar station at a strategic place in Damagundam forest area of Vikarabad district. The INS Kattabomman radar station at Tirunelveli in Tamil Nadu is the first in the country. It has been serving the Navy since 1990.  The advanced Very Low Frequency (VLF) Naval Communication Station has already been commissioned in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu. The country’s second VLF communication transmission station will be set up in Vikarabad,” he said while addressing media persons held at the BJP Telangana State office in the city.
