Hyderabad, Nov.26 (RAHNUMA): The Telangana Roads and Buildings department has secured national recognition for maintaining high safety standards in public infrastructure projects.
The National Safety Council of India (NSCI) has announced a National Safety Award to the department for its implementation of advanced safety measures during the ongoing construction of the Super Speciality Hospital at Rangampet in Warangal.
The award follows a detailed review of the project’s safety practices, on-site protocols, monitoring systems, and worker protection mechanisms. Officials from the NSCI noted that Telangana’s approach stood out for its strict adherence to safety compliance, structured supervision and methodical progress in a high-scale infrastructure environment.
Reacting to the recognition, Roads and Buildings Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy congratulated the teams involved and said the award reflects the government’s commitment to safe and quality-driven development.
“Execution speed is important, but safety and quality are equally non-negotiable. Telangana is adopting modern engineering systems and technological monitoring tools to ensure long-lasting, efficient and safe public infrastructure,” he said.
The Minister added that while nearly one crore sq. ft. of government infrastructure was built in the last ten years, the present administration has achieved a similar scale of construction within just two years — a reflection of improved planning and delivery efficiency.
With the latest achievement, Telangana’s R&B department now figures among the leading government agencies in the country recognised for operational excellence and safety-oriented construction practices.
