
Hyderabad, Jan.1 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Roads and Buildings Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has assured engineers and employees that long-pending issues are being resolved step by step and that there is no need for special appointments to meet him regarding their problems.
The Minister inaugurated the R&B Diary and Calendar–2026 at the R&B Headquarters, Errum Manzil, Hyderabad on Thursday on the first day of the New Year.
He stated that R&B is the only department in the State to launch its diary and calendar on January 1 and said it is the first time in his long political career that a comprehensive departmental diary has been unveiled on the very first day of the year.
Participating in the new year celebrations, the Minister cut a cake along with engineers and employees, interacted with staff and shared a meal with them, infusing fresh enthusiasm among the workforce.
Addressing the gathering, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy congratulated the R&B Engineers’ Association for bringing out a technically sound and practically useful diary containing key guidelines and information required for day-to-day functioning.
He said the department plays a pivotal role in the State’s development and assured continued government support to further strengthen the department.
Responding to employees’ demands, Komatireddy announced that a fully equipped auditorium would be constructed in the new year and laptops would be provided to field-level Assistant Engineers.
He stated that all categories of promotions have already been cleared and assured that the remaining pending issues would be taken up with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and resolved soon.
Highlighting ongoing works, the Minister said the department is executing major infrastructure projects, including colleges, TIMS, NIMS, Osmania Hospitals, High Court buildings, district courts, collectorates and road works worth about ₹60,000 crore, comprising double-lane, four-lane and six-lane roads. He added that HAM road projects worth ₹11,399 crore would be streamlined shortly after discussions with the Chief Minister.
The Minister said rural roads would be developed parallel to the proposed Regional Ring Road to encourage industrial growth in rural areas and create employment opportunities.
