Konda Surekha pays tributes to Komaram Bheem

Hyderabad, Oct.22 (NSS): Minister for Forest and Endowments Konda Surekha paid rich tributes to the legendary tribal warrior, Komaram Bheem, describing him as a symbol of resistance who tore through the layers of oppression.

On the occasion of Komaram Bheem’s birth anniversary, the Minister offered floral tributes to his portrait at her Secretariat chamber here on Tuesday.

On the occasion, she highlighted that Komaram Bheem’s relentless fight for dignity and identity had served as an enduring inspiration for many movements.

Konda Surekha emphasised that his famous slogan “Jal, Jangal, Zameen” (Water, Forest, Land) ignited the aspirations of various communities in Telangana and fueled the fight for a separate State.

Recalling the sacrifices of Komaram Bheem, the Minister mentioned how the Congress government, long before the formation of the State, honoured his legacy by initiating a project in his name on the Pedavagu river.

She credited Bheem’s ideals as the driving force behind the Congress party’s successful battle against dictatorship, leading to the establishment of a people’s government.

The Minister reaffirmed that the Congress-led government remains dedicated to fulfilling the dreams and aspirations of Komaram Bheem by working diligently to promote the welfare of all communities.
