KTR eulogizes Sitaram Yechury

Hyderabad, Sept.21 (NSS): BRS party working president KTR today stated that the leader, who stood firm for principles in today’s politics was CPM leader Sitaram Yechury. He said in today’s politics, which revolved around positions, Yechury was the only exemplary leader, who had lived as a Communist till his end in an era of defections, where it is uncertain when someone will change their allegiance.

KTR participated in a memorial meeting held in the memory of  Sitaram Yechury at Ravindra Bharathi and paid tribute at  the comrade’s portrait.

Speaking on the occasion, he said Vote politics was different and people’s politics was different. “We may be lagging in vote politics, but we are at the forefront in the struggle for the people. I remember Yechury’s words that we are in the hearts of the people. There may be many who do not know how to fight while being leaders and rulers. There are many who see the people merely as a vote bank. However, Yechury, who was born into a family with higher education and has risen as a voice questioning for the marginalized, was a great personality. It is said leaders who come from struggles understand the hardships and sufferings of the people. I strongly believe that Yechury is one among them,” KTR added.

He said that Yechury’s dignity was a lesson for future leaders and added that in today’s political landscape, where insults, abuses, and derogatory language are rampant, KTR emphasized that Yechury’s dignity was a lesson for future leaders.

“Think about how much courage it takes to stand before Indira Gandhi, who held the highest position in India at that time, after enduring jail life during the dark days of the Emergency, and to speak without flinching, urging her to resign. In those times when the constitution was being ridiculed for political gain, Sitaram Yechury was a person who had believed in the constitution with utmost purity. He is a person who believed in questioning as the essence of democracy.

KTR said Yechury was the true Hyderabadi child who shone in Delhi. Yechury’s aspiration to be of use to the doctors who will provide medical care to the people of this country in the future even after his death, was very noble.

The memorial meeting was attended by Kodandaram, Tammineni Veerabhadram, BV Raghavulu, Mohan Kanda, MP, Mallu Ravi, MLA, Maganti Gopinath, and others.
