KTR has no moral right to talk about BCs: Congress

Hyderabad, Sept.19 (NSS): Reiterating that the Congress government is committed to conduct the caste census for Backward Classes ( BCs) in Telangana, Government Whip Aadi Srinivas has lambasted that BRS working president KT Rama Rao has no moral right to talk about BCs.

Speaking to the media at the Congress Legislative Party ( CLP) office here on Thursday,  Aadi Srinivas remarked, “KTR does not need to lecture us on BC census,” and emphasized that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had repeatedly stated that representation should be proportional to the population.

“The BC census bill has already been passed in the Assembly and a Government Order (GO) has been issued in this regard. Moreover, Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has announced the conduct of BC census in Telangana. No one has the right to question the commitment of the Congress party. Once the party promises, it will surely fulfill the promise,” Aadi Srinivas said.

“Why did the BRS government not think of conducting the caste census in the last ten years? Neither the BRS president, working president, nor the Leader of the Opposition in the Telangana Assembly belongs to the BC community,” the Congress  MLA questioned.

He pointed out that the Congress party has given the PCC chief position to someone from the BC community, and in the future, more opportunities will be provided to BCs by the party and the government.

He also found fault with KT Rama Rao for  setting deadlines for the State government  on the BC census and said that KTR should stop making hollow statements.

“We will certainly complete the BC caste census. The High Court has also directed that a report should be submitted within three months. We will definitely comply,” Aadi Srinivas disclosed.
