KTR slams govt over attack on Asha workers

Hyderabad, Dec.10 (NSS): BRS party working president KT Rama Rao has once again expressed his displeasure over the treatment meted out to ASHA workers by the Telangana police. He went to Osmania Hospital on Tuesday and visited the Asha workers who were injured in the police attack on Monday.

He later spoke to the media outside the hospital. He alleged that the police had attacked the Asha workers who demanded the state government a hike in their salaries as promised in the elections. “In a way, on Monday, there was a misadventure on the Asha workers,” he said while wondering if the police drag them away without even looking at the women? He said the State government had promised to increase the salaries of the ASHA workers to Rs 18,000 within six months of coming into power but now even after completing one year, it did not fulfill their promise.

KTR said that the daughters of Telangana would not forget the misadventure done by the Revanth Reddy government. He assured the Asha workers that he would be with them. He said that the Asha workers had served the people of the state without even considering their lives during the corona virus pandemic and added that the heart of everyone was shaken after seeing the Revanth Reddy government’s crackdown on them. He said they would fight on behalf of Asha workers in the assembly.
