Hyderabad, Nov.11 (NSS): Government Whip Aadi Srinivas has raised sharp questions about BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s visit to Delhi and alleged that the BRS leader is going to the national capital to appease BJP leaders to evade his corruption cases.
In a press release here on Monday, the Government Whip asked, “KTR, what business do you have in Delhi? Who invited you there?”
Referring to allegations surrounding AMRUT project tenders, Aadi Srinivas dismissed the need for complaints, pointing out that former MLA Kandal Upender Reddy, also a member of BRS party, had already confirmed that no corruption took place.
“Even KTR has no understanding of these tenders,” Srinivas added, criticising the legal notices issued on claims of an alleged Rs. 8,888 crore scam.
He continued by clarifying that the tender value was only Rs. 3,500 crores and that KTR’s exaggerated claims were damaging his own credibility. “Instead of addressing the central government, why don’t you answer former MLA Kandal first?” Aadi Srinivas suggested that KTR’s Delhi trip was more about attempting to avoid accountability than actual governance.
He further accused KTR of going to Delhi merely to gain favour with BJP leaders, under the guise of discussing the AMRUT project.
The Congress MLA claimed that KTR’s visit to Delhi was a ploy to evade a deeper controversy surrounding the “Formula E” event, as well as worries about a possible FIR approval from the State Governor.
“No matter how hard you try, KTR, there’s no escape. You will need to account for the funds misused,” Srinivas stated firmly, asserting that KTR’s main agenda has been criticising the Chief Minister and the State government.
Aadi Srinivas claimed that laws would take their course, and if found guilty, there would be no option but prison.
Vemulawada MLA Aadi Srinivas also criticised former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao over the distribution of Bathukamma sarees during the previous BRS government, accusing the previous government of neglecting the livelihoods of Siricilla weavers.
“The Congress government has cleared the debts created by the previous BRS government,” he declared, further questioning KTR’s relevance as an MLA, implying it would make no difference to the Telangana State if KTR held office or not.
