Hyderabad, Aug.16 (NSS): BJP National Spokesperson Pradeep Bandari today said the Law and order situation in West Bengal is completely deteriorating, which is reflected in the rising crime rate and increasing atrocities against women in that State. He said the BJP demands Mamata Banerjee to resign as Chief Minister of West Bengal.

“Despite having a female Chief Minister, women in Bengal are not safe and their rights are being violated. Whether it’s in Sandeshkhali, Chopra, or Kolkata, these recurring incidents make it clear that women are far from being safe in the State. In the case of rape and brutal murder of a female PG Doctor in a government hospital in Kolkata, Mamata Banerjee delayed the transfer of the case to the CBI by several days and failed to ensure a proper investigation of the crime scene. This delay also resulted in the tampering and destruction of crucial evidence”, he added.

He said Mamata Banerjee initially protected the RG Kar Medical College principal, while Bengal police tampered with evidence. Later, the principal, Sandip Ghosh, was made to resign as a facade. In light of the current situation, Mamata Banerjee should be the one resigning. Goons attacked a peaceful doctors’ protest at RG Kar Medical College, vandalizing the area. The CBI has taken over the investigation but the law and order still falls under Didi’s administration. The police might not have acted because the goons were linked to the TMC, as Didi is known to go to great lengths for appeasement and to shield culprits.

Pradeep Bandari said Congress and INDI Alliance leaders become the first to politicize issues in BJP-ruled States, but remain silent on Bengal. Will the response to atrocities against women depend and vary according to the State and coalition involved? He said INDI Alliance is united by mutual threads of crime and corruption.

“Akhilesh Yadav defends a rapist like Moid Khan, while Mamata Banerjee’s approach extends on another level altogether. While these leaders continue their cover-ups, the other INDI Alliance leaders merely remain mute spectators. Extremism is rampant in West Bengal, where people have no right to voice their concerns or protest against injustices. Mamata Banerjee’s dictatorship has regressed the State significantly. Bengal needs freedom from anarchy, dictatorship, and ultimately, the TMC for true peace and development to arrive in the State.”
