Hyderabad, Dec.29 (RAHNUMA): Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao stated that shortage of urea is due to insufficient production and imports. He noted that the management of urea supply is under the jurisdiction of the central government, not the State government.
The Minister addressed a question from Dubbaka MLA Kotha Prabhakar Reddy during the Legislative Assembly’s Zero Hour on Monday. He mentioned that an app has been launched to ensure a transparent distribution of urea to farmers based on their specific needs, aimed at maintaining an adequate supply for the state’s agricultural demands. He also reassured that the government does not intend to create any hardships for farmers.
In response to Boath MLA Anil Jadhav’s inquiry, Jupally Krishna Rao stated that they have communicated the challenges faced by soybean farmers to the central government and have requested that purchases be conducted through NAFED.
He further revealed that the state government is in discussions with the central government on this matter.
