Lt Gen Neeraj commissions new facility ‘Kavach’ for training

Hyderabad, Oct.15 (NSS)Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney, VSM, Commandant MCEME and Col Commandant of Corps of EME commissioned a new training facility called “KAVACH” for training on Armoured Equipment at Military College of Electronics & Mechanical Engineering on October 15, 2024 a momentous day and occasion of 82nd Corps Day of EME.

The training bay will encompass state-of-the-art laboratories on niche as well as matured crucial technologies such as Additive Manufacturing, AR/ VR training laboratories and modern Fluid mechanics & Hydraulics labs along with modern classrooms for a conducive environment for learning, knowledge sharing and innovation. The facility is a symbol of MCEME’s commitment in improving and modernising facilities and infrastructure keeping up with the vision of COAS & GOC-in-C ARTRAC.

During the inauguration ceremony, Lt Gen Neeraj Varshney emphasized the significance of modern training infrastructure for enhanced learning and empowering the technical leaders with theoretical and application-based knowledge on niche technologies.

MCEME is one of the premier technical institutions in the country and has been training the officers and technicians of Indian Army since 1946. The College conducts training in multi-disciplinary fields ranging from basic engineering to complex systems being employed in various weapon platforms and the present facility would be utilised for training all ranks of army on latest techniques of repair & sustenance of armour vehicles to increase operational availability & reliability of AFVs.
