Hyderabad, Aug.26 (NSS): Kukatpally MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao of the BRS party has welcomed the demolition drive initiated by the Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection (HYDRAA) across the Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits. However, he raised concerns about the fate of people who purchased sites in the affected areas.
Krishna Rao questioned whether HYDRAA would ensure refunds to individuals who bought sites from builders. He also sought action against officials from the irrigation, revenue, municipal, and Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) departments who granted permissions for the constructions. The MLA highlighted that most of the properties were purchased by common people and software employees, asking, “What justice will be done to them?”
Krishna Rao’s statement comes as HYDRAA continues its demolition drive to protect lakes and prevent encroachments in the Full Tank Level (FTL) or buffer zone.
