Madhavaram welcomes CM’s plan to call all-party meet on Hydra demolitions

Hyderabad, Oct.4 (NSS)BRS party MLA Madhavaram Krishna Rao has welcomed Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s announcement to convene an all-party meeting on the issue of Hydra and Musi river demolitions. He said if the all-party meet had been convened three months back, a woman named Buchamma would not have died in Kukatpally. “We had earlier suggested an all-party meeting,” he said and demanded that the government and the CM should tell as to how many ponds were there in Hyderabad and how many are there now. Madhavaram alleged that the officials were misleading the Chief Minister and suggested the CM to speak with full understanding.

He said they had earlier put up fences around the tanks as per the instructions of the then minister KTR and added that they had to remove the fences as some farmers who had pattas at the Nallacheruvu tank had approached the High Court. He said the CM can take action if there was any  involvement of the BRS party  leaders in Nallacheruvu and Kukatpally tanks. He demanded an inquiry by a sitting judge to find out who was involved in the irregularities in the Nalla Cheruvu, Khajakunta and Maisamma Cheruvu tanks. “It is not right to collect taxes from those who have been living for 60 or 70 years and now call them encroachers,” he said. He warned that they would not keep mum if those people with clear land ownership documents harassed by the State government authorities. He urged the people of Hyderabad not to shed tears.

Madhavaram said they would   also support the cleansing of the Musi river project if it was done in a systematic manner. He said the details of the tanks were  different with each government department and added the officials of the State should first come to a clarity. He alleged that the ruling Congress party was claiming credit for the houses built by the KCR government and the development works done by it.
