Mahesh Goud calls KCR’s past ‘Deeksha’ as ‘fake hunger strike & political drama’

Hyderabad, Nov.28 (RAHNUMA): TPCC president Mahesh Goud launched a scathing attack on former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, calling his past ‘Deeksha’ a ‘fake hunger strike and political drama” backed by saline and vitamin injections. He alleged that the BRS, now ‘a party struggling for political relevance’, was resorting to new dramas like ‘Deeksha Divas’ to regain public attention.

Goud, talking to newsmen, said that no member of KCR’s family sacrificed for the Telangana cause, asserting that the movement succeeded only because of the sacrifices of BCs, SCs and STs. Accusing the KCR family of treating Telangana ‘as personal property’, he said KCR, KT Rama Rao and T. Harish Rao had ‘looted the state’.

He credited Sonia Gandhi for the formation of Telangana and challenged KCR to “anoint her photo with milk” if he was sincere. Mocking Harish Rao’s remarks on the movement, he said that “Harish Rao had got petrol, but no courage to light it, while the Dalits and BCs carried matchboxes.”

The TPCC chief dismissed criticism over corporation chairmen posts, adding that he had clarified matters with Nalgonda DCC chief Komatireddy Venkata Reddy. Targeting the BJP, he said its leaders ‘cannot even eat tiffin without thinking of Owaisi’.

Announcing plans to meet the Prime Minister seeking approval for the BC Reservation Bill, he accused the BJP and BRS of blocking the legislation. Recalling his past as a Naxalite victim, Goud said the Congress never supports violence but believes in giving Maoists a chance to surrender.
