Hyderabad, Nov.6 (NSS):Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi today conducted a surprise inspection of several sections of the GHMC head office.
On the occasion, the Mayor conducted a surprise inspection of the Town Planning, Health and Veterinary departments. She expressed anger at the officials in the Town Planning department for being absent during her inspection.
Additional Commissioner (Admn) Nalini Padmavathi was asked to check the attendance register after the Mayor asked them to maintain punctuality and not go to have tiffins as the chairs in some sections were seen vacant during her inspection. Nalini Padmavathi explained that a circular had been sent to all the departments to examine the attendance register and send a report on what action had been taken for the delayed persons and added that no report had been sent from the town planning department so far. She expressed anger at the officials that the Town Planning section in Prajavani was receiving a lot of complaints and the complainants were roaming around without resolving the issue. The Mayor was angry as some people in the Health department were looking at the cell phones leaving aside work.
On the occasion, the Mayor said earlier two surprise inspections were conducted in all the departments, the staff of the respective departments should come till 10.30 in the morning, the grace time will be another 10 minutes, and the staff who do not come to the office till 10.40 will be late three times in a month. She said one casual leave would be cut and if there is no casual leave then EL would be cut. The Mayor has issued instructions to all the departments of GHMC to submit the report every month.
