Mallu Ravi refutes KTR’s allegations on AMRUT scheme

Hyderabad, Sept.23 (NSS): Congress MP Mallu Ravi has refuted the remarks of BRS working president KT Rama Rao who alleged that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy awarded contracts worth Rs.1,000 crores  to his brother-in-law, Srujan Reddy, under the AMRUT scheme.

In a statement here on Monday, Mallu Ravi said that KT Rama Rao was spreading false allegations against the Chief Minister who has nothing to do with the AMRUT scheme.

“KTR has falsely stated that Srujan Reddy is the Chief Minister’s brother-in-law. He must clarify that Srujan is not Revanth wife’s own brother, but rather a relative on the maternal side. But, KTR is misrepresenting facts to mislead the public,” he pointed out.

The Congress MP further stated that the AMRUT scheme tenders were awarded through an online process with central government funds and there was no room for corruption. KTR, without any thought, is trying to throw mud on the Chief Minister by falsely associating him with these tenders, he criticised.

The truth is that KTR and the BRS leaders are unable to accept the growing popularity of CM Revanth Reddy and the Congress government, which is why they resort to false accusations, Mallu Ravi said.

He further alleged that the BRS, which supported all anti-people policies of the BJP for ten years, now claims that the BJP is supporting Congress, which is shameful politics.

Regarding tenders, KTR needs to understand that the previous government had awarded tenders with four percent excess margin, which allowed their benami contractors to loot public funds. Those tenders were cancelled and reissued with a two percent lower margin. How can there be corruption when the margin was reduced, he questioned.

The Congress MP has urged the BRS leaders  to work as a constructive opposition, supporting development and welfare schemes of the Congress government. Otherwise, they will lose even the opposition status in the upcoming elections, he added.
