
Hyderabad, Nov.30 (NSS): A man was attacked by a tiger in Kumaram Bheem Asifabad district on Saturday leaving him seriously injured. It was the second tiger attack within a span of three days.
A young woman was killed in a similar tiger attack three days back. The incident took place at Dubbagudem in Sirpur (T) mandal of the district. Suresh, a farmer, was attacked by the tiger when he went to work in the field in the morning. At the same time, people nearby shouted and the tiger fled from the spot. Suresh, who was injured in the tiger attack, was rushed to a hospital. People in the area are shivering with fear due to a series of the tiger attacks.
Morley Lakshmi (21), a resident of Gannaram village in Kagaznagar mandal, died after being attacked by a tiger. The tiger attacked her and took her into its mouth when she was on her way to pick cotton in a field on the outskirts of Nazrul Nagar village. The woman, who was lying with serious injuries, died while being rushed to the hospital. Forest department officials have been put on high alert in the wake of a series of the tiger attack incidents. Search operations have been intensified for spotting the tiger. The search is being carried out with the help of drones.
Restrictions have been imposed by the authorities in several villages of Kagaznagar mandal. The authorities have alerted the people of Ezgam, Nazrul Nagar, Sitanagar, Anukada, Gannaram, Kadamba, Areguda, Babunagar and Chintaguda villages. People of these villages have been advised not to venture into the fields and forest areas. The authorities have issued instructions to the people of the surrounding villages not to allow anyone to go to the spot where the tiger was attacked as there is a possibility of the tiger coming back to the spot where it attacked. Meanwhile, the forest department officials have intensified efforts to capture the tiger as soon as possible.
