Maoist kills woman cadre, accusing her of being a police informer

Khammam, Aug.21 (NSS): In a tragic turn of events, the Communist Party of India (Maoist) has executed a female cadre who once served as a Protection Team Commander in the Andhra-Odisha border region, accusing her of being a police informer.

The victim, identified as Neelso alias Banthi Radha (Pallepati Radha), hailed from Balaji Nagar (Kotha Indiranagar) near ECIL in Hyderabad. Her death was confirmed by Ganesh, the Secretary of the Andhra Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC), in a press release issued on Wednesday.

Ganesh alleged that intelligence officers from the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Chhattisgarh police had devised a plan to identify ideologically weak Maoist cadres. These cadres were allegedly recruited as covert agents to gather information on the Maoists, thereby aiding the police in their operations. Radha was reportedly trapped by this scheme and coerced into working for the police.

Radha had joined the Maoist ranks voluntarily in 2018 after completing her Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT). Over the past six years, she served as a squad member, military trainer, and Protection Team Commander. However, due to her indiscipline related to personal relationships and violation of party principles, she was demoted from her commander position, marking the beginning of the end of her revolutionary life, according to Ganesh.

Radha’s body was reportedly found abandoned in a forested area near Chennapuram in Cherla Mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district, along the Telangana-Chhattisgarh border. Local police have retrieved the body and registered a case regarding the incident.
