
Hyderabad, July 26 (NSS): The mastermind behind Dilsukhnagar bomb blasts case and the alleged Indian Mujahideen terrorist Syed Maqbool (52) died while undergoing treatment at the city based Gandhi hospital. Maqbool, who is a prisoner in Charlapally Jail, has been suffering from illness for the past few days. A heart operation was done on him 30 days ago. Later his kidneys failed and his health condition deteriorated. He was admitted into the Gandhi hospital for the treatment. He died in the early hours of Thursday while undergoing the treatment at the hospital. NIA (National Investigation Agency) found his involvement in many bomb attacks across the country. A Delhi court sentenced him to life imprisonment in the Dilsukhnagar blasts case. A case was registered against Syed Maqbool in Hyderabad 6 months ago. He was brought here from Delhi on a transit warrant.
Syed Maqbool, who hailed from Nanded in Maharashtra is known to be a close associate of Indian Mujahideen founder Azam Ghori. The NIA mentioned that his role was behind the serial blasts in Varanasi in 2006, Mumbai in 2007, Jaipur in 2008, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bangalore and Dilsukhnagar blasts in 2008.
