Minister Jupally hails Chakali Ilamma’s legacy at grand anniversary celebration

Hyderabad, Sept.26 (NSS): Chakali Ilamma’s fight in the armed peasant struggle for land and livelihood continues to inspire future generations, said Minister for Tourism and Culture, Jupally Krishna Rao.

Speaking at the grand celebrations of Chakali Ilamma’s birth anniversary at Ravindra Bharathi in Hyderabad on Thursday, he highlighted her immense contribution to the farmers’ movement.

The event was organised under the aegis of the department of Backward Classes Welfare, with BC Welfare and Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar also in attendance.

Minister Jupally paid floral tributes to Ilamma’s portrait as part of the ceremony.

In his address, Minister Jupally emphasized that the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is committed to fulfilling the aspirations of leaders like Ilamma.

He mentioned that the Koti Women’s University was renamed after Ilamma to honour her legacy and her granddaughter, Shweta, has been appointed as a member of the Telangana Women’s Commission in a tribute to her family.

Jupally urged the youth, especially those feeling disheartened by life’s challenges, to draw inspiration from the courage and determination of leaders like Chakali Ilamma.
