
Hyderabad, Nov.8 (NSS): The Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education is holding a two-day National Wellbeing Conclave from November 9 at IIT- Hyderabad. Aiming at an integrated approach for promoting positive mental health, resilience and wellbeing, the conclave will help the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) to build an ecosystem where mental health of both students’ as well as faculty members will be given due importance.
The conclave is being inaugurated by K. Sanjay Murthy, Secretary, Higher Education. Prof BS Murthy, Director, IIT Hyderabad and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Education, Rina Sonowal Kouli will be participating in the conclave which will give the institutes an opportunity to understand the importance of cordial relations between students and faculty.
IIT Hyderabad has been identified as the ‘Host Institution’ to commit infrastructural, administrative and logistic support needed in organizing the ‘National Wellbeing Conclave’. Experts on mental health, students and faculty members would deliberate on various emerging needs and current landscape of mental health and wellbeing. There would be sessions on comprehensive capacity building programmes and the best practices like leveraging AI technology for proactive mental health monitoring, cultivating a supportive campus environment through diverse initiatives and engaging families and new students with orientation programs would be deliberated upon and adopted.
