Hyderabad, Oct.6 (NSS): BRS party MLA K P Vivekanand today warned the State government that they would launch a massive agitation if Hyderabad Metro Rail was not extended till Medchal.
He was the chief guest at the maha dharna programme organized by metro sadhana samiti at Gandhi statue in Jeedimetla village today.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA KP Vivekanand said the development of the metropolis with a massive plan during the BRS government was taken up. He said former CM KCR had taken up the development works in all four corners the city like metro expansion, flyovers, construction of underpasses and selected survey agencies on metro rail expansion to Kompally and Medchal areas as well as Tumukunta and Shamirpet areas on the north side of the city and handed over the works.
He said it was an insult to the people of his Qutbullapur assembly constituency to take up the metro expansion in the name of fourth city by setting aside KCR plans a few days after the formation of the Congress government.
“The Chief Minister is indulging in insider trading by opening up the real estate business in the name of The Fourth City. The real estate business idea behind proposing Rs 8,000 crore in the name of the metro expansion to a city that has not been created so far will not do any good to the people except the real estate business idea,” he said.
He said the decisions of the government should be for the welfare of the people and not for selfish politics. “They are acquiring real estate lands in the name of Fourth City and doing business while ignoring the people of Qutbullapur and Medchal for their selfish politics. The Chief Minister is constantly at loggerheads with the courts for his inexperience and inconsistent decisions. People are suffering due to the decisions taken by CM Revanth Reddy in the name of conservation of tanks, hydra, demolition of the houses of the poor in the name of Musi beautification and allocation of funds to the City of Imagination in the name of Fourth City.
The chief minister’s inexperience and lack of understanding behind these decisions is clearly visible. The courts have been cracking down on the government’s decisions on a daily basis. “We will approach the court against the setting aside the proposal of the metro to Medchal during the previous BRS government and handing over the works to the survey agencies by the BRS party chief KCR and then ignoring the Medchal metro works after the Congress party came to power. We will achieve the Medchal Metro which is legally due to us,” he said.
He said on national highway 44, which is the connectivity to the city to north Telangana, the State ministers regularly travel through the Medchal region to Nizamabad, Karimnagar and other areas and warned that if the metro was not extended to Medchal, not a single minister would be allowed to move on this route.
Medchal Metro Sadhana Samiti Executive Committee members, corporator Mantri Satyanarayana, Kompally Municipal Chairman Sanna Srisailam Yadav, former corporator Suresh Reddy, division presidents, ward members, senior leaders, women leaders, activists and others participated in the program.
