Hyderabad, July 14 (NSS): G. Niranjan, TPCC Sr. Vice-President & Chairman, Election Commission Coordination Committee today said the results of the by-elections held in 13 assembly seats in seven States are proof of waning charisma of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the country.
Speaking to mediapersons in Gandhi Bhavan here, Niranjan said in the 13 assembly by-elections held in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bengal, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar, the India Alliance won 10 seats while the BJP won only two, that too with a thin majority, which is a proof of the decreasing support for BJP and Modi among the people in the country.
He said the BJP, which campaigned in the Lok Sabha elections with the slogan of Ab Ke Bar Char Sau Par, got only 240 seats, 32 seats short of the simple majority, and the results of the by-elections that have been held now are proof of the growing dissatisfaction among the people against Modi government in the country.
The propaganda made as there is no leader equivalent to Modi in the country proved false with the rise of the INDIA alliance, and the public’s appreciation of Rahul Gandhi’s speech in the Lok Sabha as leader of the Opposition will lead to key developments in the country’s politics. He said the people are angry with BJP as it was misusing power to crush the Opposition parties instead of caring for the welfare of the people. Even the BJP cadre had lost their faith in Modi and searching for alternative leader, he added. (NSS)
