Hyderabad, 20th May 2024 : Mohammad Yar Alam, a dedicated aerospace engineer and the son of former Imam Mohammad Shehriyar Alam of Masjid-e-Mohammedia, has been passionately pursuing his dream of becoming a pilot. To achieve this, he enrolled in the Chimes Aviation Academy in Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, embarking on an intensive pilot training course.
The cost of this prestigious program is Rs. 51 lakh, posing a significant financial challenge for the Alam family. Mohammad Shehriyar Alam, recognizing his son’s dedication and academic excellence, took extraordinary measures to support his aspirations. He mortgaged their family home, sold valuable jewelry, and secured loans from relatives. Despite these efforts, an additional Rs. 26 lakh is urgently needed by the end of June 2024 to cover the remaining tuition costs.
In their search for support, the Alams approached The Siasat Daily, where they met with Editor Zahid Ali Khan and the Secretary of Faiz Aam Trust, Iftekhar Hussain. They appealed for financial assistance, stressing the urgency of their situation. Touched by their story, Zahid Ali Khan and Iftekhar Hussain committed to helping, calling on the community, especially those living abroad, to contribute generously to this cause.
Mohammad Yar Alam’s academic achievements are impressive. He graduated with distinction in aeronautical engineering from Lovely Professional University and excelled in his SSC and Intermediate studies. His determination and academic prowess underscore his potential to succeed in the pilot training program and achieve his lifelong dream.
This plea for assistance echoes a previous successful campaign by Zahid Ali Khan, who helped Salva Fatima, a resident of Old City Hyderabad, become the first Muslim woman pilot of Telangana. His personal contribution of Rs. 16 lakh, along with an additional Rs. 36 lakh secured from the government, enabled her to fulfill her dream.
Zahid Ali Khan and Iftekhar Hussain believe that with the community’s support, Mohammad Yar Alam can also achieve his goal. They are confident that collective efforts will help him overcome financial barriers and inspire other young individuals to pursue their dreams with similar determination.
