MP ETALA SLAMS GOVT FOR FELLING HOUSES OF POOR

Hyderabad, Sept.5 (NSS): Malkajgiri MP Etela Rajender today asked the officials whether he should keep silent even after seeing the demolition of the houses of the poor as an MP on Wednesday. He inspected the Saroornagar tank along with BJP leaders.

Speaking on the occasion, he said in 1968, the government had decided that Pedarayudu cheruvu FTL was 17 acres and added that the same government had given permission to develop layout in the adjoining lands. He said it was not right to issue notices to the house-owners of the area by stating that the pond was of 42 acres. “Not only houses, but also temples, crematoriums and community halls have been issued notices. People are saying that they have built houses only after the authorities of that time gave permission,” he said while adding that people in P&T colony had purchased it at the rate of Rs 3 per yard.

Etela Rajender assured the residents of the surrounding areas of Saroornagar pond that ‘he would be with them. He was accompanied by BJP Ranga Reddy Urban district president Sama Ranga Reddy, Champapet corporator Vanga Madhusudhan Reddy, BJYM State executive member Silvery Anil Kumar, Akula Akhil, Praveen Goud, Ravinder Reddy, Amit Sumit, Srinivas, Green Park Colony representatives Bal Reddy, Ravinder Reddy, Chennakesava Reddy and others.
