MP Vamsi Krishna goes 6 Km underground, assures Singareni workers’ safety

Ramagundam, Jan.5 (RAHNUMA): Peddapalli Congress MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna conducted an extensive inspection of the Singareni Collieries’ 11 Incline Mine in Godavarikhani on Monday, travelling nearly six kilometres underground to assess the safety and working conditions.

Dressed in Singareni work attire, the MP reviewed mining operations, safety protocols, and worker welfare alongside SCCL officials and Congress leaders. He interacted directly with the workers, assuring them of continued support. “The coal miners are the backbone of the nation’s economy. Ensuring their safety and welfare is our top priority”, Vamsi asserted.

Workers raised various demands, including income tax exemptions and the establishment of a medical board. Vamsi said he had already taken up these issues with the Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, and pledged to pursue them both with the State Government and in Parliament. Vamsi’s inspection included a special prayer at the Durga Devi temple within the mine premises, reflecting his commitment to the workers’ well-being.

He met with the workforce, listening to their concerns and instructing officials to implement robust safety measures, particularly for women workers.

He also reiterated his demand for a Rs.10,000 pension for Singareni holiday workers and promised to push for housing facilities for the miners.

Vamsi was accompanied by Local General Manager Lalit Kumar, senior leader Mallikarjun, and Mancherial District Congress President Raghunath.
