NALSAR HOSTS NATIONAL CONF ON “ML, AI & IP FOR STARTUPS”

Hyderabad, Jan.17 (RAHNUMA): The DPIIT-IPR Chair and the N.C. Banerjee Centre for IPR Studies, NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad, on Saturday organised a one-day National Conference on “ML, AI and IP for Startups”. The conference aimed to equip startup founders and aspiring entrepreneurs with essential knowledge to navigate intellectual property challenges and to understand how Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Intellectual Property can be strategically leveraged to strengthen startups and support long-term growth.

Delivering the keynote address, Kavikrut, CEO of T-Hub, underscored the critical importance of protecting intellectual property and recognising the value of ideas and innovations generated by startups. He highlighted how robust IP strategies can significantly enhance the competitiveness and sustainability of emerging enterprises.

As part of the inaugural session, the book “IP Playbook for Startups in India”, authored by Prof. (Dr.) Anindya Sircar, Chair Professor – IPR, NALSAR, was formally released. The book serves as a practical guide for Indian startups on identifying, protecting, and leveraging intellectual property assets, and aligns closely with the conference’s focus on innovation-driven entrepreneurship.

The conference featured an esteemed panel of speakers, including Subhadip Sarkar, Vice President – Legal & Corporate Affairs, Cognizant Technology Solutions; Dr. Venkat Reddy Donthi Reddy, Senior Advocate, Hyderabad; Dr. Goutam Bhattacharyya, Partner, K & S Partners; Dr. Surya Man Tripathi, Head of Legal Services, ICRISAT; and Dr. Ramjee Pallela, Senior Consultant, ISBA. The speakers shared practical insights into intellectual property strategy, along with their experiences in building and supporting enterprises.

The presentations emphasised the integration of intellectual property into the strategic framework of startups, leading to informed and constructive discussions. Participants included IP professionals, students, young entrepreneurs, and researchers, making the conference a vibrant platform for learning and exchange.
