NARENDER REDDY APPROACHES HC AGAINST HIS ARREST

Vikarabad, Nov.14 (NSS): The attack on government officials in Telangana’s Lagacharla village has taken a major turn. Former MLA Patnam Narender Reddy, who was arrested in connection with the assault on government officials in Lagacharla has filed a bail plea in the Telangana High Court on Thursday.

In his plea, he said he had nothing to do with the case registered at Bomaraspet station. He also said the officials were attacked by the victims who lost their land for TSIIC. He also said the lower court had sent him to police custody without examining the matter properly. He said the police had not submitted any evidence that he was involved in the incident and did not give reasons to justify the arrest as mentioned in its remand diary. “The lower court did not realise that the arrest was illegal and politically motivated,” he said.

Patnam Narender Reddy pleaded with the High Court to quash the remand order. The petition is likely to come up for hearing on Monday. People of Lagacharla have also filed a petition in the High Court to quash the FIR in the Lagacharla attack case. The villagers had filed the petition in the High Court seeking quashing of the cases as the police had filed an illegal case against their family members.

Meanwhile, the police said the attack on the officials in Lagacharla village in Vikarabad district was planned. The Police also said one by one the evidence is coming to light. In the list given by the government, the government has concluded that there was land belonging to BRS party leader Suresh. The report said Suresh and his brother Mahesh did not own any land. Of the 42 accused, 17 did not own land, the district Collector said.

IGP Satyanarayana said they came from outside the village and carried out the attacks. Police have seized the cell phone of Patnam Narender Reddy. They sought the magistrate’s permission to open the phone. The police are in the process of ascertaining from whom the instructions were received from Suresh and Narender Reddy. The police sought the custody of Narender Reddy.

The police intensified the investigation into the incident. A total of 20 people have been arrested in the case and were remanded. Former BRS MLA Patnam Narender Reddy has already been arrested and remanded to judicial custody. The Kondangal court has remanded him to judicial custody till November 27. KTR’s name has been included in the remand report of Patnam Narender Reddy.

According to the police, Narender Reddy had spoken to KTR several times over the phone along with the call data. The call records of the conversations between the two have been recovered. In addition to instigating farmers and attacking officials, preliminary investigations revealed that KTR had asked Narender Reddy to go to any extent.
