
Hyderabad, Oct.23 (NSS): Nasa Hospitals, which provides specialized medical treatments for brain and spinal diseases, has set up a comprehensive brain stroke centre in the State capital. Due to modern lifestyles and extreme psychological stresses, more people have brain and spinal-related problems, especially brain stroke (paralysis). In this context, NASA Hospitals has prepared a separate department. Dr Riyaz, who is the founder and executive director of NASA Hospitals, said the comprehensive brain stroke centre had been launched with experienced medical experts and state-of-the-art facilities.
Addressing media persons here on Wednesday, he said the state-of-the-art brain stroke centre had been developed to provide special treatments for brain and spinal-related problems. “The centre has been inaugurated at Chintalkunta on LB Nagar Main Road. Famous spine surgeon G.P.V. Subbaiah, noted neurologist Dr Venigalla Naveen Kumar, brain and spine surgeon Dr V. Sreedhara Narayana, Dr Venuthurumilli Rakesh, Dr M. Karthik, Dr K. Prithviraj and other skilled medical experts will be serving at the centre,” he added.
Dr Riyaz announced a 50% discount on the brain stroke preventive packages, CT scan and MRI scans. Dr Venigalla Naveen Kumar, clinical director of NASA’s Comprehensive Brain Stroke Unit, said through the new section, modern treatments would be provided for problems like the brain stroke, seizures, Parkinson’s, dementia, neck pain, back pain, head pain, meningitis and so on. In addition to providing treatments to cure diseases, priority is being given to necessary control measures as soon as symptoms appear, he added. Dr Naveen Kumar said the ‘Be Fast’ programme had been developed to protect people from the brain stroke.
Naveen Kumar said apart from treatment of the brain, spinal cord problems, neuro ICU and brain stroke, disease control services and rehabilitation facilities were available at the centre.
