Niranjan, TPCC Sr Vice-President & Chairman, Election Commission Coordination Committee today said, on the one hand, millions of students are suffering with the misconduct of NEET examination and UGC NET examinations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was busy with the photo session while inaugurating the Nalanda University campus in Bihar on Wednesday. It is a proof of his irresponsibility, he added.
Speaking to mediapersons at Gandhi Bhavan here today, he said around 24 lakh students toiled day and night for months to write the NEET exams and the irregularities in it shocked the entire country. The future of students is miserable. He said 1,563 students were initially given grace marks and later cancelled the grace marks by Supreme Court comments and conducting exams for them once again. It is noteworthy that Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan initially tried to cover up the irregularities and later said there were a few irregularities.
Even before settling of controversy on NEET, the new controversy on the UGC NET exams have been cropped up. UGC NET Exam was conducted for eligibility for Assistant Professors, Junior Research Fellowships. Some 11 lakh people registered for the exams on a single day on June 18, he said, adding that the National Cybercrime Agency sensed that integrity of examination might have been compromised and the investigation was handed over to the CBI.
Niranjan said Prime Minister Modi should immediately convene an all-party meeting and order a comprehensive inquiry by a sitting Supreme Court Judge to avoid repeating such incidents in the future and messing with students ‘ lives. Modi who is popular in conducting “Chai pe Charcha” should initiate “Pariksha pe Charcha” to discuss the vows of students and their parents, he added. (NSS)
