No plan to privatise power companies: Bhatti

Hyderabad, July 24 (NSS): Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has clarified that the State government doesn’t have any intention to privatise the power companies in Telangana.

During the debate in the Assembly on the injustice done to Telangana in the Union budget, the Deputy Chief Minister condemned the remarks of BRS MLA KT Rama Rao, who alleged that the State government is planning to privatise the power companies and demanded Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to give a clarification on the subject.

KT Rama Rao further stated that the responsibility for collecting electricity bills in the Old City has been handed over to the Adani Group and Energy Minister Bhatti Vikramarka should know the facts what is happening in DISCOMs and whether Adani’s men have come to fight or not.

Responding to the remarks, Bhatti clarified that nowhere does the State government say that power circles are being given to private individuals in Hyderabad and asked KTR how he could speak in the House holding what was written in the newspapers.

“KT Rama Rao is misleading the people of Telangana as well as the Assembly. All the words he speaks are baseless allegations. The State government has no intention of privatising the power companies,” Bhatti Vikramarka said.
