Kakinada, Nov.29 (NSS): Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has taken a serious view of the smuggling of ration rice at Kakinada port. He inspected Kakinada port on Friday. He also took serious note of the officials over the transportation of the ration rice at Kakinada port.
He personally went to the Stella El Panama ship, where 640 tons of rice was seized for transportation about nine nautical miles into the sea. Pawan Kalyan spoke to the media on the occasion. He said a special boat was taken to the Stella El ship where the ration rice was seized and inspected in a special boat at sea. He questioned as to why the officials, who supplied 38,000 metric tonnes of rice on board the ship. He asked the officials what they were doing when such a large quantity of rice was being transported from the port.
“Every time the people’s representatives and leaders come and stop the smuggling of rice, will they not be able to take action? Action should be taken against those involved in the smuggling of rice. What are the officials doing when the ration rice is being taken out at will,” he asked.
Pawan expressed his displeasure over local TDP MLA Vanamadi Kondababu for not taking action against the irregularities. “Why didn’t you talk about it in the Assembly? It is not proper for the officials to cooperate with the miscreants,” he said. He also threatened to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah over the irregularities in the ration rice. Pawan Kalyan has warned that action will be taken against the officials who acted negligently.
