Vijayawada, Aug.23 (NSS): AP Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan on Friday said their government had thought for the development of the State beyond the politics of Railway Koduru. “The aim is to make golden villages. If the villages are green, we will all be comfortable,” he said.
Pawan was speaking at a gram sabha titled ‘Swarna Grama Panchayat’ at Mysuruvaripalle in Railway Koduru mandal of Annamayya district. He alleged that the previous government had crippled the Panchayati Raj system. “The Grama Sabha is very important in terms of what needs to be done for the development of a village. In the past, we have seen a situation where even existing funds have been diverted. The previous government had crippled the Panchayati Raj system. We are taking all steps to strengthen it. If 19,326 panchayats are strengthened, we will be able to pay off all the debts of the State. We don’t run away from responsibilities. We work continuously for miracles. There is no wand in hand to do. There is a commitment full of hearts. I have said in many meetings that Andhra Pradesh needs the experience of CM Chandrababu. Chandrababu alone was able to give pensions to lakhs of people on the first day itself. I do not hesitate to follow those who can think better than me. I have desire to learn from Chandrababu, who has administrative experience,” he added.
He said he was ready to work as a labourer for the people and added that he would stand by them if they are in trouble. “The post I am holding is not a decoration for me. I will be responsible. Every panchayat should have its own land. There will be no tolerance if government lands are encroached upon. If necessary, we will bring the ant-goonda act. If the panchayat does not have assets in terms of the government, it is futile. There is also a situation where there are no playgrounds in the villages. If donors come forward, I will also bring funds and set up sports grounds, prevent migration from Rayalaseema and increase the opportunities for livelihood. A skill development university will be set up to curb migration,” Pawan Kalyan said. He congratulated Karumanchi Narayana, a farmer, for providing 10 cents of land to Mysuruvaripalle village panchayat.
