Peace foundation aims to ensure timely treatment for poor; Shabbir Ali donates Rs.5 lakh

Hyderabad, March 14 (RAHNUMA): Advisor to Telangana Government Mohammed Ali Shabbir, Minority Welfare Minister Md Azharuddin, former Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali, Telangana State Waqf Board Chairman Syed Azmatullah Hussaini and Siasat Daily Editor Amer Ali Khan on Saturday launched the “Peace Foundation” here at Western Hospitals. The foundation aims to mobilise financial support for poor patients who struggle to meet the immediate costs of treatment during medical emergencies.

Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ali said the initiative, launched during Ramadan, was intended to help economically weaker sections access timely and quality healthcare. He noted that many patients arrive at hospitals without insurance or financial resources, leading to delays in treatment.

Announcing his support, Shabbir Ali donated Rs 5 lakh to the foundation and assured continued assistance. He also said the Telangana government would extend cooperation to initiatives that support poor patients.

Minister Md Azharuddin welcomed the initiative and said rising healthcare costs have become a major burden for many families. He urged the doctors to promote preventive healthcare and healthy lifestyles among the patients.

Former Home Minister Mohd Mahmood Ali said the poor families often face delays in treatment due to financial constraints and emphasised the need for greater financial assistance mechanisms. He suggested that government schemes such as ‘Aarogyasri’ should be extended to hospitals serving economically weaker sections.

Amer Ali Khan appreciated the initiative and announced a donation of Rs 1 lakh while assuring publicity support through “Siasat Daily” to create wider awareness.

Doctors associated with the initiative said the Peace Foundation would function as a transparent platform to provide immediate financial assistance to deserving patients so that life-saving treatment is not delayed due to lack of funds.
