CM thanks PM and FM for sanctioning two notes of AP including Polavaram and Industries
VIJAYAWADA, 28 August: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said that Polavaram project Phase I will be completed by March 2027. He said that the central government today cleared two notes of AP government including Polavaram project and Industries.
Speaking to media persons at secretariat today, the Chief Minister said that the central government decided to release Rs 12,127 cr for Polavaram project first phase. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitaraman for sanctioning funds to Polavaram project, the chief Minister said that now the state government is able to put on track Polavaram project, which was neglected by previous YCP government. He said that the central government decided to release Rs 600 cr towards Polavaram project during 2024-25, Rs 6157 crore during 2025-27. He said that the state government spent Rs 11,762 crore towards Polavaram project so far and the central government has to reimburse Rs 4,999 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the previous YCP government diverted the funds released by central government towards Polavaram project. He said while the central government released Rs 8388 crore the state government spent only Rs 4167 crore and diverted the balance amount.
In addition the central government decided to spent Rs 28,602 crore towards three industrial corridors in AP. He said industrial hubs are coming up in Kopparthi in Kadapa district, Orvakallu in Kurnool district in addition to Pharma cluser in Nakkapalli. He said 25,969 acres will be allotted to Kopparthi industrial hub to provide employment to 54000 people. In Orvakallu industrial hub 2621 acres will be allotted and Rs 2726 will be spent to provide employment to 48,000 people. He said the proactive decisions taken by the central government are likely to bring good days to AP state.
