Police kept on alert in Vikarabad district after farmers’ attack

Vikarabad, Nov.12 (NSS)The attack on the district revenue department officials in the presence of Vikarabad district Collector has become a sensation in the State. The police made elaborate arrangements to avoid any untoward incident in the villages where the violence erupted.

Internet services have been suspended in Dudyala, Kodangal and Bomraspet mandals. The police carried out checking of vehicles as many people are coming to the district. Heavy security arrangements have been made to prevent any untoward incident. No one is being allowed to enter the mandals. On the other hand, the Tehsildars and revenue officials across the district staged a protest with black badges against the attack on the district Collector on Tuesday. The police have been put on high alert in the wake of the protests on one side and several leaders coming to the mandals on the other.

No one is being allowed to enter several mandals of the Vikarabad district. Vehicles are being allowed to ply. The District Superintendent of Police Narayana Reddy said 52 people had been taken into custody in connection with the incident. “We are investigating the conspiracy angle in the attack on the officials,” he said. According to him, Suresh is said to be one of the key accused in the attack on the officials. “We are also investigating from a political angle and everything will be known in the course of the investigation,” he said. Police forces have been cordoning off the Lagacharla in large numbers since midnight.

Electricity was switched off and every house was blocked in the village. It is known that the villagers have been opposing the setting up of a pharma company at Lagacharla in Dudyala mandal of Vikarabad district for a long time.
