Policies of new rulers not changed: Narayana

Gudur, Oct.11 (NSS)CPI national secretary K Narayana today said despite the change in the State government, the policies of the rulers had not changed.

Speaking to mediapersons at a hotel in Gudur on Friday, he said though the government had changed in the State, there had been no change in the rulers. “It is not right for CM Chandrababu Naidu to behave like the last chapter of special category status. The development of the State is not possible with the meagre funds given by the Centre. Chandrababu should discuss with the Centre for special category status,” he said.

He alleged that thousands of employees were being laid off at the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant and deliberately trying to privatise the plant. He demanded that the CM come to Visakhapatnam steel plant and publicly announce that it would be privatised. “The black rulers’ rule in the State has come to an end and the beard has come to power and there is no change in the policies of the rulers except that the State government and the rulers have changed,” he said.

He joked that Chandrababu did not have magic, mantras and a wand to solve all the problems within three months. “The new bottle of liquor policy in the State has an old liquor policy in it,” he said. He also said during the previous government, only one person looted in the name of liquor but added that this government had decentralised the liquor policy and allowed more people to loot. He said If ₹. 3,000 crore was collected in the form of applications alone and added that how much more would  they loot with nearly 4,000 liquor shops? “Why are governments turning alcohol into a major source of income when it is being said alcohol appears to be a food item for these rulers and it is contaminated with alcohol,” he asked.

He questioned the government as to why the promise of providing sand free of cost before the elections could not be implemented even after 100 days. “Sand has become an inaccessible grapevine for the common and middle class people. At the same time, TDP, YSRCP leaders and revenue officials have been cheated,” he said.

He said road construction was being carried out in all parts of the State and added that if farmers gave land for roads, walls were being constructed on service roads and farmers were not allowed to enter the fields. “We strongly condemn this. We have personally taken up the matter with Chandrababu. He returned from Delhi without raising the issue saying that he would discuss with the Central government,” he said.

He warned of a massive agitation if the farmers were not allowed to enter their fields. He said Sanatan Dharma was against the Constitution. “It is not right to bring the laddu controversy to the fore and incite communal hatred. The SIT is investigating under the supervision of the Supreme Court. It is not right to do politics against God in the Tirumala Laddu controversy out of anger against Jagan. The RSS has benefited from this issue. It is good in all respects that politicians remain silent on the issue. Pawan Kalyan has put aside Che Guevara’s ideology and is implementing Savarkar’s principles,” he said. He said Telangana Minister Konda Surekha should tender an unconditional apology to religion followers. He said if the Congress party has differences with KTR and KCR, it should take them politically and added that it was not right to drag innocent people into politics.

Referring to the country’s politics, he said the elections, which the BJP is trying to do, would hurt the federal structure in the country. “Though a majority of the States are opposing it, the BJP regime is intensifying efforts for the assembly elections. The Congress should have won in Haryana as well. The lack of inclusiveness, arrogance and the aam aadmi party contesting separately are some of the factors that have come together for the victory of the BJP. If the Congress does not change its stand, it will lose in Maharashtra and Jharkhand as well. People of the country are opposed to the BJP rule and a positive change is going to come in the country,” he said.

Later, he answered several questions asked by reporters in his own style. The meeting was attended by CPI district executive member C.H. Prabhakar, constituency secretary G. Sasi Kumar, Town Secretary Sheikh Kalesha and others were present.
