Policing is like test cricket match: CP CV Anand

Hyderabad, Nov.21 (NSS): City Police Commissioner CV Anand today said a police job was like a Test cricket match. After completing nine months of training, the passing out parade of the newly recruited police constables was held in Hyderabad. CV Anand was the chief guest at the event. He  received the guard of honour at the police passing out parade of 747 police constables.

Speaking on the occasion, he said out of this, 1,128 personnel had been allocated to the Hyderabad Police department for training. “Now, 747 people have conducted a passing out parade of Deekshat. As many as 3,081 women constables have undergone police training. In 1992, I got IPS training and there was a passing out parade. Then 80 trainee IPS officers participated,” he recalled. He said those who have been trained should work with kindness and added that the police should obey the Constitution while noting that the police should work honestly and fairly. He said the duty should be fulfilled in protecting the lives of the people. Police duty is a matter of ups and downs, he said. “I appeal to the police to stay away from drinking. Young cops should be physically fit,” he said. He also said one should not succumb to any addiction and to any other thing and should not become a slave. “I was in the middle of 75 kg in my 33-year-old police service. I am very fit and I can wear the police dress that I used to wear 30 years ago at my BPS passing out parade,” he said.
