Hyderabad, Aug.13 (NSS): Bharat Rashtra Samithi ( BRS) leader and former MLA Peddi Sudarshan Reddy has lashed out at Minister Ponnam Prabhakar for not having the minimum understanding of governance and poor knowledge on the crop loan waiver.
The BRS leader questioned the Minister as to why the crop loan waiver was not done for all farmers in the Telangana State and claimed that thousands of farmers were waiting for the loan waiver.
Speaking to the media along with party leader Errola Srinivas and others at Telangana Bhavan here on Tuesday, Sudarshan Reddy criticised the State government for not waiving off the loans to farmers for various reasons.
“The call centre set up by the BRS party for receiving grievances of farmers is working round the clock and is receiving thousands of complaints on the crop loan waiver.
So far, around 75,000 complaints have been received on the loan waiver issue . Many more farmers say they are looking for August 15,” the BRS leader said.
Stating that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s visit to villages after August 15 is a matter of conjecture, the BRS leader said that Rs.45,000 crore is required for the loan waiver.
“The farmers understand the government’s conspiracies that are trying to make us feel like cheated with Rs 18,000 crore. The Congress has borrowed Rs 50,000 crore during its nine-month rule. We will soon expose the atrocities of the Congress party leaders,” Sudarshan Reddy said.
He also asked as to why farmer suicides were on the rise in Telangana State.
Errolla Srinivas criticised the Congress rule for running under police surveillance.
“The Congress leaders have made it their job to scold the BRS party leaders. They are cutting the ribbon of the buses purchased during the BRS regime,” he pointed out.
