Hyderabad, Aug.20 (NSS): The incessant rains that lashed Hyderabad since Tuesday morning claimed the life of a daily wage earner. A labourer named Vijay (43) died due to the heavy rains and was swept away by the floods at the Baptist Church in Ramnagar.
On receiving the information, the local
police and GHMC officials reached the spot and shifted the body to the government hospital for post-mortem.
On the other hand, the government announced a holiday for educational institutions under GHMC limits. The DEOs of Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts issued orders declaring holidays for schools and colleges due to the heavy rain. Meanwhile, a lightning struck an apartment named Sukh Niwas in Panjagutta. The lightning struck the shed and destroyed the car. In addition, the electric wires were cut in the area.
