RAJA NARASIMHA RELEASES WATER FROM SINGURU PROJECT

Sangareddy, Sept.5 (NSS): With the water level reaching the full capacity of Singur project, Minister for Health Damodar Raja Narasimha lifted two gates of the project and released water into downstream in Sangareddy district on Thursday.

Prior to lifting the gates of project, Raja Narasimha along with District Collector Kranthi Valluri performed puja at the project site. Later, the Minister lifted two gates- No. 4 and 6 by 1.50 meters and released 16,284 cusecs of water into the downstream. At present, there is a water storage of 28.55 TMC in the project.

Speaking on the occasion, Raja Narasimha said that as the Singuru project is now with the full capacity of water, farmers need not worry about their future and water can be available for the next two crops under the project.

Later, the Minister visited a tourism park situated at near the Singur project and assured that he would take steps for improving facilities.
