Hyderabad, Dec.5 (NSS): The Reserve Bank of India has issued a notification cautioning the people to be alert about cyber cheats who are adopting parcel and other methods of scams to deprive the people of their hard earned money. People should be alert about fraudsters who threaten that legal action will be taken against them and asks people to transfer money immediately, or threaten that their bank accounts or debit/credit cards will be freezed or blocked, and also about audio and video calls from persons claiming to be officials of RBI/Banks/government agencies and courier company.
The RBI advised the people not to be afraid of such threats and fall a prey to the tactics of the fraudsters; not to give personal/ financial details to anyone and not to click on unknown links to make payments.
The RBI said that if any person has been cheated by Scamsters, he should immediately call phone number 1930 or report to cybercrime.gov.in for assistance.
