Hyderabad, July 21 (NSS): “If you receive SMS for debit transaction not done by you, immediately block all modes of debit including UPI. Also inform your bank/e-wallet”, says a notification by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI).
The alert is issued in view of increase in the cyber crime and gullible people losing their hard earned money. Crooks are adopting various types of methods to cheat the bank customers and others, and make easy money.
Friendship fraud: Unscrupulous elements are duping the people in the name of friendship. One message on your mobile says: We don’t make friendship, we make connections. Call me on 51550051. Another message says: Non-stop chat with romantic friends. Call 5050555. Another message says: I did there things today: Miss U, Miss U and Miss U. So please call me at 5030055. Tech grace.
This sort of messages are aimed at cheating people in the name of friendship. Beware. Don’t respond to such messages. Delete them and save yourself from getting cheated.
