Retired postal departmental employees stage protest programs

Hyderabad, Oct.16 (NSS): The retired employees of the postal department today staged a dharna program In front of Dak Sadan and GPO in Abids here on Wednesday for the fulfillment of their demands along with their family members.

They demanded that the CAT orders of the Supreme Court should be implemented as it is. The JAC members of the retired employees of the postal department said that in 1980, the Postal Department, a central government agency used their services with a salary of Rs 2 per hour. They said that Of the 383 people from the two Telugu states, 40 had died. “The Department of Posts, which has been fighting for three decades for the attainment of their legitimate rights, has ignored it. Some of the top officials are causing mental anxiety and distress. According to the Supreme Court’s ruling on 35 years of legal rights,” they said.

In addition to giving all kinds of concessions, the government was asked to implement the orders of the Postal Directorate. “Regularisation of service as per CAT orders is mandatory. The irregularities in the payment fixation from the date of commencement of appointment should be rectified immediately. As per the fifth CPC, increments and pensionary benefits should be given immediately. “We will continue our agitation in a phased manner till our demands are resolved,” they said.
