Revanth’s plan is to loot public money: KTR

Hyderabad, Oct.19 (NSS)BRS party working president KTR today criticised that CM Revanth Reddy had planned to loot public funds in the name of Musi river. He expressed anger that while the entire Musi river rejuvenation would cost ₹26,000 crore, CM Revanth Reddy was claiming that he would spend ₹1.5 lakh crore on the same project.

He alleged that Revanth Reddy had been found to carry money bags for his Congress party in Delhi. He accused the CM of extorting money from builders under the guise of Hydra. KTR expressed anger that Revanth had labelled those living in the Musi buffer zone as encroachers. KTR inspected the STPs in Nagole of the city along with the BRS MLAs and MLCs.

Speaking on the occasion, he said they had constructed the largest sewage treatment plant in the country in Nagole and added that the treated water would go to Nalgonda district. He remarked that Revanth Reddy has nothing new to offer and added that managing these STPs properly would suffice. KTR stated that the Musi River was a boon for Hyderabad and added that it had been turned into a sewage pit by the Congress and TDP governments.

He noted that 20 crore liter of sewage was being produced daily in Hyderabad and revealed that there was no city in South Asia that treats 100% of its sewage except Hyderabad while noting that this achievement was accomplished during KCR’s tenure. He informed that the construction of the STPs had begun with an expenditure of ₹3,800 crore. He mentioned that sewage flows into the Musi river from 54 nalas in the city. He claimed  that Revanth Reddy was inaugurating the STPs built during the BRS tenure. He noted that the Musi river flows for 57.7 kilometers in Hyderabad. He revealed that plans had been made to construct bridges at 15 locations over the Musi river. He mentioned that they had decided to build modern structures while preserving historical and heritage wealth. He stated that ₹545 crore had been allocated for the construction of bridges during their rule.

He said they intended to build a road-cum-bridge-cum-check dam. He informed that they planned to construct a massive skyover on Musi with an investment of ₹10,000 crore. He stated that no matter how much purification is done, Musi water was not drinkable. “Therefore, we decided to bring water from Kondapochamma Sagar to the Musi river. We had planned to bring water from Godavari with an investment of ₹1,100 crore. The foundation stone for that project was laid on May 18 last year,” he said and reiterated that Revanth Reddy had planned to loot public funds in the name of the Musi river.
