Hyderabad, Aug.2 (NSS): The Comptroller and Auditor General  (CAG) report stated that the revenue expenditure is more than revenue income in Telangana

The CAG report for the financial year 2022-23 was tabled in the Assembly on Friday.

It disclosed that there has been more expenditure on irrigation projects in the last five years.

The CAG also found fault with the previous BRS government, stating that it had borrowed 6 percent more than the limit set by the 15th Finance Commission. It also disclosed that 58 percent of SC development funds and 38 percent of ST funds were not utilised in Telangana and alleged that the spent SC and ST special development funds were diverted.

The CAG report mentioned that the revenue receipts have been increased significantly by 25 percent while the growth rate of revenue and receipts have been decreased by one percent.

“The fiscal deficit has been reduced by Rs.2,749 crores. The government loans and advances were increased by 150 percent in 2022-23. The government has arranged loans for companies that do not have their own revenue. Grants coming from the Centre were heavily estimated and the Telangana electricity companies had not received any dues from Andhra Pradesh. At the same time, funds for houses, distribution of sheep and oil palm schemes were not spent. Allocations for Dalit Bandhu and loan waiver schemes have not been spent heavily,” the CAG said in its report.
