Hyderabad, Aug.18 (NSS): The rich tributes were paid to popular freedom fighter Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud on the occasion of his 374th birth anniversary at Gandhi Bhavan here on Sunday.
Minister for BC Welfare Ponnala Prabhakar has garlanded to the portrait of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud and paid tributes to him.
PCC working president MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, Rajya Sabha Member Anil Kumar Yadav and other Congress leaders attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ponnala Prabhakar stated that the birth anniversary of Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud is considered as the day to recall about the welfare of weaker sections in Telangana.
The Minister has praised Sardar Sarvai Papanna Goud for uniting the poor and forming a separate army to fight against the rulers and win the Golconda Fort.
“Sardar Papanna Goud’s life story should be an inspiration to everyone and his fight for the unity of the backward classes is a guiding force. The people should follow the path of Papanna Goud and work for the unity and development of the weaker sections through democratic means,” Ponnam Prabhakar said.
