(RAHNUMA) RIYADH – As part of Saudi Arabia’s ambitious Vision 2030 reforms, the Ministry of Media has launched the “Global Harmony” initiative, aimed at enhancing the Kingdom’s cultural landscape by celebrating the diversity of its residents. At the forefront of this initiative during Riyadh Season is the grand celebration of Indian culture, a vibrant showcase of the country’s rich traditions and artistry.
Starting on October 13, Riyadh will become a gateway to India’s cultural heritage, allowing residents and visitors alike to experience the nation’s colorful festivals, classical and contemporary performances, mouth-watering cuisine, and intricate handicrafts. This 45-day celebration, supported by the General Entertainment Authority, will offer a mesmerizing array of events that reflect the depth and beauty of Indian traditions.
Among the highlights are stunning dance performances, featuring classical forms such as Bharatanatyam, Kathak, and Odissi, alongside Bollywood-inspired shows that encapsulate the energy and creativity of modern India. Renowned Indian musicians will take the stage, captivating audiences with soulful melodies of Indian classical music as well as the vibrant rhythms of contemporary hits.
Food lovers will also be in for a treat, with dedicated stalls offering an array of traditional Indian dishes – from spicy curries and flavorful biryanis to sweet treats like gulab jamun and jalebi. In addition, master artisans will showcase their craftsmanship, allowing visitors to admire or purchase beautifully handcrafted jewelry, textiles, and pottery.
This celebration of Indian culture is not only an exciting part of the Riyadh Season but also a reflection of the growing ties between Saudi Arabia and India, as well as the significant contributions of the Indian community to the Kingdom’s economy and social fabric. The event is expected to foster a deeper appreciation of the cultural exchange that Vision 2030 strives to promote.
