He said the records of Rakhi festival were  proof of the popularity of the people for the public transport system and added that TGSRTC’s Rakhi festival records would  be a milestone in the country’s public transport system. He said in the wake of the implementation of Rakhi and Mahalakshmi scheme, precautionary measures had been taken to ensure that the passengers do not face any difficulties and added that in the last two weeks, the management held three meetings with the field staff.

“In three days, 2,587 special buses have been operated. Instructions have been issued to provide better and quality services to the passengers without causing inconvenience to them. As per these instructions, the depot managers have arranged gate meetings and motivated the staff,” he said, adding that due to prior planning and personnel commitment, the passengers for Rakhi festival had been safely dropped at their destinations. “It is heartening to note that while performing their duties efficiently, the staff has demonstrated their service as part of extra mile,” he added.
