Ruling party shivering with BRS’ Gurukul baata program: Praveen Kumar

Hyderabad, Nov.30 (NSS): BRS party leader R S Praveen Kumar today said gurukula baata programme had been launched to know the problems faced by the students of the gurukuls. He said the ruling Congress party was shivering with the BRS Gurukul baata programme. “For almost a year during the Congress rule, there was no minister for education and there was no minister for welfare. Gurukuls in the State are in danger. The students are coming out on the roads demanding the supply of quality meals,” he said.

Speaking to mediapersons along with former MLA Balka Suman and Gellu Srinivas Yadav at Telangana Bhavan here, he said the people of Telangana had rejected State minister  Konda Surekha in the past. He said the court had ruled that a case should be filed against the allegations levelled by Surekha against women and added that she did not deserve to be a minister.

He said he was earlier an IPS officer and was given an award by the Central government. He said he left seven years of service and joined politics for the sake of students. “Surekha has said that I am  giving contaminated food to the students and if there is any evidence, it should be made public. If there is any evidence to substantiate the allegations against me, it should be handed over to the CBI for investigation,” he said.

Former MLA Balka Suman criticised the Congress government for destroying the education system. “This is a deliberate conspiracy by the Revanth government. CM Revanth is new Deshmukh. Those studying in gurukuls, KGBVs, government schools and hostels are all children of the poor and weaker sections of the society. Revanth’s blood has a dominant ideology. SCs, STs, BCs and minorities are being prevented from getting education. That is why he has kept the education and welfare departments with him. As many as 860 students were hospitalised in 11 months due to the negligence of the Revanth government. While 48 students died, 23 committed suicide. Revanth Reddy has been accused of colluding with corporate colleges. Food poisoning has occurred thrice in a school in the CM’s home district and no review has been made so far. Revanth Reddy is dealing with the arrogance of power. If gurukuls are good, then what is the need to question them,” he asked.

He criticized the State ministers for speaking cross-eyedly saying that KTR was conspiring. He said Gurukula Baata  would  be organized in the spirit of Deeksha Divas. “Don’t destroy Gurukuls with anger on KCR. Do not destroy the future of the children of poor and weaker sections,” he said.
